Just put myself on the list today - there are close to 10,000 people on the list. It will probably take 5 years just to get a 10-game package and 10 years to get season tickets. By the way, it cost $50 just to be on the list - meaning it doesn't go towards the cost of any ticket purchases.
Wow, I put my name on the list in April 08 and the rep said there was about 5500 or so on the list at the time. That's nuts that it doubled in less than 1 year!
I actually just spoke to the ticket office today to change some info on my account and the rep. said there are about 8000 people on it right now! He said they are currently giving 10-game packs to people who put their names on in Sept. of 2004. When I put my name on the list last April there were about 5000 on it. It's nuts how fast it's growing!
I think your numbers might be off. I put my name on in Sept. of 2007 and I believe the waitlist number was around 7,500 back then.
Here's hoping that the recession has knocked a few people out!
Yeah, I'm not sure anyone knows the real number. The rep defintely said 7500 the day I spoke to him, but I've heard other say differently. Either way, it's gonna be a decent wait for sure.
I just called to update my contact information. I was just told 8500 people are on the waiting list, and that they just gave the 10-game packs through Oct 2004. I was also told that there is a three strikes you're out rule, so if you don't accept what they offer you after the third offer, you're moved to the back of the list. I was also told to add seasontickets@redsox.com and ticketoffice@redsox.com to my acceptable incomming e-mail list to ensure I'm contacted. I guess that means they won't be sending a letter...
I’m on the waiting list and received an e-mail from the redsox stating there are 7,700 people on the list
The last people that were able to purchase the standard season ticket plans were given the chance at Christmas at Fenway in 2003. In reality you will move up on the list -- that is, the list will disappear - after two bad seasons. Just as it did with the Celtics post-Bird, or the Bruins post-Orr. You will be able to buy in when no one else wants them.
