The Old Course at St. Andrews is, simply, the Home of Golf. And, the purest way to experience playing the Old Course requires a leap of faith...the Daily Ballot. The Daily Ballot is a wonderful tradition of St. Andrews, and around half of all available starting times are awarded by the Daily Ballot. To put your group's name in, the ballot requires a minimum of two, either register in person or over the phone by 2 p.m. for the next day’s play. Results are posted at 4 p.m on the internet and around the links. Your chances will vary according to the season and weather.

Please note that there is a handicap requirement of 24 for men and 36 for ladies, you must bring a valid handicap card from your professional or home course, and the Old Course is closed on Sunday.
